He was 49.

I was the oldest of five.

The year before, in 2014, something was not right. His leg kept swelling. We kept going back and forth to the doctors.

They told us it was nothing serious. They gave him water tablets and sent him home.

But it was not nothing.

Eventually, we found out the truth.

Stage 4 prostate cancer.

By the time it was diagnosed, it was too late.

In the final week of his life, my dad was moved into a hospice.

That week, he started doing something I will never forget. He began writing letters, one for each of his children.

On the day he passed away, 13th March 2015, he had just started writing mine.

But he never finished it.

My siblings all have their letters. I do not.

And to this day, I still do not know what he wanted to say to me.

That feeling never leaves you. Not knowing. Not having those words. Not being able to go back.

That is why I created CapSoul.
